X is for Xylophobia

I thought that I would never see

A phobia about a tree.

(xylophobia)

A tree which lives in forests (hylophobia) green

(chlorophobia)

Upon whose bosom snow (leukophobia: fear of white) has lain.

A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins (ornithophobia) in her hair.

(chaetophobia)

Phobias are made for fools like me

But only God (theophobia)can make a tree.

Apologies to Joyce Kilmer author of the famous poem “Trees.”
