B is for Belvedere

gold-3Some years back, while on a tour, my husband and I visited the Austrian Belvedere Museum. We were mesmerized by the art works displayed.  Especially the “Woman in Gold.”  We brought home memories and a photo of the famous painting.

So when  “Woman in Gold” showed up at the local movie house, we went expecting the best.  It had to be with Helen Mirren in the lead role.  And it didn’t disappoint. What did disappoint was some of the negative reviews the film received. We, on the contrary thought it was superb. Ryan Reynolds, as her lawyer, did a fine job. Tatiana Maslany who played the young Maria in flashbacks, was perfect for the role.
